Volunteering

Date Game Volunteer Sign-Up
Sunday, October 26th Divisional Playoffs Sign Up for Volunteering

The Anchor Bay Buccaneers are a non-profit organization run by volunteers.  When you sign your child up to be a member, you are also signing yourself up to help give our athletes their best season yet.  We need help both on and off the field.

On game days, play cannot begin until all volunteer field positions are covered.  If we cannot cover positions, we will have to forfeit games.  Our Board members have specific duties during our home games and are not available to cover these spots.  The majority of positions require little to no experience, and we are always willing to teach you if you are interested.  If you have a specific need or disability, please reach out and we can suggest a position that would be the best fit for you.  Due to league rules, non-participant minors are not allowed on the field during games, so they cannot help with these positions.

While concession volunteers are not necessary to play a game, our concession stand brings in the majority of our team funding.  Filling these positions helps us keep our costs down and helps fund our player experiences.

Volunteer Commitment

Every family will be asked to commit to 4 volunteer hours per athlete (max 8 volunteer hours per family).

Every family will be required to submit a volunteer deposit check in the amount of $200 per athlete (max $400 per family).  This check is separate from the individual athlete equipment deposits.

Volunteer Deposit checks will be held until the end of the season.  If all commitments have been fulfilled, checks will be shredded at the end of the season during equipment return.

If volunteer commitments are not fulfilled, deposit checks will be cashed.

NO equipment, or uniforms will be given to ANY athlete until all required paperwork and deposits have been submitted.

How Do I Pick Volunteer Commitments?

Volunteer commitments are scheduled in 1 or 2 hour segments.

Some volunteer commitments require more than one volunteer working together, or will have assistance from a referee or board member.

Some volunteer commitments will allow you to watch the game while you work.

Volunteer commitments can be before, during, or after the games.

Each volunteer commitment requires check-in at the Admissions table to get credit. If your position is on the playing field, then you will also be required to pick up a volunteer badge. This badge must be returned to the Admissions check-in table after the volunteer commitment is completed.

Multiple family members can volunteer during the same day or time, as long as there are open positions.  You cannot share a position and get double credit for it.

Games are scheduled in order of Flag, Freshman, JV, and Varsity. So a JV family can stay after their game to volunteer for a Varsity game, or a Freshmen family can arrive before their game to volunteer for a Flag game.
